Malaysia's organization of the Haj pilgrimage should be the best role model for all other Islamic countries, said Saudi Arabia's South East Asia Passport Operations chief Naif Abdul Hameed Shahate.
He said he was impressed with the pilgrims' smooth journey from Malaysia and found that the majority of them were well prepared for their time in the Holy Land.
By the time Malaysian pilgrims arrive here, most of them are quite well informed about their lodging, rooms, passport clearance and the location of places of worship, said Naif whose department is under the Ministry of Haj.
"This depends on efficient organization which involves cooperation between all related departments," he said to Tabung Haji media personnel through an interpreter at Movenpick Hotel here Thursday.
Naif, who was also met by Malaysian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Datuk Prof Syed Omar Syed Al-Saggaf and Consul General in Jeddah Mohd Khalid Abdul Razak, thanked the Malaysian pilgrimage organisers for cooperating well with his department and making their job easier.
