The queen will have a private function to recognize disaster victims and relief workers in Queensland during his visit to Brisbane this month.
Premier Anna Bligh revealed the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, a schedule for their Oct. 24 visit.
The one-day trip is part of 10 days of the royal couple visiting Australia to coincide with the Commonwealth Heads of Government (CHOGM) in Perth from October 28-30.
The recovery of the city from the devastating floods of January is intended to be a recurring theme throughout the day.
Premier Bligh said it will host the reception QPAC (Queensland Performing Arts Centre) to recognize the emergency services, volunteers, and are affected by natural disasters in the summer of 2010-11.
Earlier, the royal couple are expected to cruise the Brisbane River Bretts Wharf in Hamilton South Bank, with residents invited to line the riverbank.
"I know that the photos were destroyed in different parts of the world, strongly influenced by many people," MS Bligh said.
"It will be a wonderful opportunity to show the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, that our wonderful city is really brilliant, once again."
The couple will make a public walkway from the dock on the South Bank at QPAC, more than 20 years after the Queen opened the Expo at the South Bank in 1988.
