Angelina Jolie is speaking out about her dark past, something she says she's lucky to have survived.
"I went through heavier, darker times and I survived them. I didn't die young," the 36-year-old actress and mother of six said in an interview on "60 Minutes," airing on Sunday.
“So I am very lucky. There are other artists and people that didn't survive certain things," she explained, but stopped short of going into the specifics. "People can imagine that I did the most dangerous, and I did the worst... for many reasons, I shouldn't be here."
She also says that her dark, sexy side of her still exists, but that only partner Brad Pitt is special enough to see it.
'I'm still a bad girl,' the Oscar winner tells CBS News correspondent Bob Simon. 'I still have that side of me...it's just in its place now...it belong to Brad [Pitt], Or...our adventures.'
In the interview, which will air this Sunday on 60 Minutes, Jolie also says she's lucky to be alive given her racy past.
The 36-year-old may be a mother of six and a film director now (her movie "In the Land of Blood and Honey" opens on December 23), but the actress still feels deeply connected to her troubled past.
"I went through heavy, darker times and I survived them. I didn't die young," Jolie says. "So I am very lucky. There are other artists and people that didn't survive certain things."
When prodded by the interviewer Bob Simon on what she meant, Jolie said: "I hope you missed nothing, I want to go to a lot of details, but I think people can imagine . I made the most dangerous, and I do the worst, and admits many reasons I will not be there.
"I still have that side of me...it's just in its place now," she said. "It belongs to Brad. Or... our adventures."
